Is it really time for Follow a Newbie Friday again already?! Where does time go when you’re armpit deep in dirty nappies? In the last couple of weeks I’ve been looking at customising my blog a little. It’s still a work in progress but I’m going with this look for a while. It’s exhausting working out all the different technical bits that it helps to know to do this. I know that last week there was a call for some info on how to do some of the more “techie” bits so, for WordPress users, I wrote these basic instructions for badges and hyperlinks. I hope it helps.
Follow a Newbie Friday is an opportunity for us Newbies to get a bit proactive and help ourselves to carve our own space in the blogosphere. It’s a place for us to highlight all those fabulous new blogs out there struggling to get their voice heard amongst the thousands of other bloggers. You can find out more about Follow a Newbie Friday and link to previous weeks’ posts in the tab at the top.
So, without further ado, this weeks featured blogs are:
The Accidental Mogul shares a Terrible Two story for The Crumby Mummy’s Terrible Tuesday linkie. Have you got a terrible toddler? Make sure you join in! @theaccidentalmo
Pret-a-Mummy writes a heartfelt piece on how lonely and isolating it can be as a mother, even when you have the company of your children all day. @bargainmummy1
Sixtine & the Little Things tells us about a wonderful worldwide cultural exchange. A fabulous idea to be a part of, both worldwide and even just from different parts of the UK. @sixtineATLT
Mum of Three Boys shares her, “The Things They Say” linky, a sort of, “Out of the Mouths of Babes,” idea. I’m sure we’ve all had a giggle at something our children have said so here’s the perfect chance to link up and share. @angoewright78
The Yummy Step Mummy tells us about her blogging journey so far, which started this year, and includes changing from Blogger to WordPress (so if you’ve ever considered it, she’d be a good person to ask. She also shares lots of her favourite bloggers. Are you included? Could you be in future? @yummystepmummy1
Fatty Goes to the Olympics, as well as sharing the trials and tribulations of losing 100lb, tells us how, after one-of-those days she manages to finally unwind with a spot of cooking.
The Boy’s Behaviour explains why the time has come to say bye-bye to her son’s birth family for a while. @boysbehaviour
The 40 Year Old Domestic Goddess, a lighthearted, fun blogger, ponders the effect of a clipboard on a workman’s importance @sthurley49
The 40 Something Undomesticated Devil on the other hand, shares both her ironing mountain pile and her husband’s potato-like pancakes for Shrove Tuesday. @lizzie_loodles
Mummy Cool’s trying to deal with the fact that her Third Girl wants more freedom. Is it really time to let her walk to the shops herself? @jodiekins22
365 Pearls of Wisdom gives in to the idea that this week hasn’t gone beautifully to plan but hey! There’s always next week… @karenspofw
The Adventures of a Middle Aged Matron manages to express the trouble with World Book Day in 100 words – and she has linked it to the 100 Word Challenge on the theme A Leap of Faith. @ageingmatron
Silly Fun Stuff tries to encourage her children to engage with nature with the cry, “First one to see a spider eats it.” Interestingly, it works – I’d have run back inside if I thought I was going to have to even look at a spider. Oh, and it’s worth noting that this post contains a spider image – just in case, like me, your fear of spiders goes as far as to fearing their image. I’m weird – get used to it! @tootingjo
I think that’s about all we’ve got space for here. Who knows? One of your future favourite blogs could be in this list… If you’ve got in touch to share a new blog but it’s not listed above, chances are you’ll be included within the next fortnight. However, another way to get your blog out there this week is to link up to the Linky below. Write your own Follow a Newbie post – whether you write about 1 or 21 blogs – and add it to the list. If we all read these posts then we’re all spreading the love that little bit further.
Feel free to add the badge to your website so other people can start joining in, and soon we’ll have a lovely big variety of newbie blogs to read.

Why thank you for the inclusion. I’ll certainly have a look at my companions in the list!
I think I always thought your blog was really old and established! People should definitely click through to you.
Thanks for the mention hon. I’ve just had a ping back. Although, I’m still not really sure what one of those is. ;0) Love what you’re doing for newbies! x
Lol, a pingback tells you someone has linked to your post. It sits with the comments so other people know you’ve been linked to.
Thanks so much for the mention, fantastic idea. Huge hugs to you xxxxx
Aw, hugs felt and appreciated. Why not write even a short version with one or two newbies in it?
Hmmmmmm !!! Now you have me thinking. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
